Transported Cooled Semen - Stallion Breeding Contract
The Breeding agreement made herein is for services of the Friesian Stallion
Matthijs RS (FPS registration # 124004200404058)
This CONTRACT for the breeding season of 2007, made and entered into on (date): _____________ is by and between AnnaBella Stables
hereinafter designated Stallion Owner, and _______________________________, hereinafter designated Mare Owner. Mare Owner agrees to
breed the Mare named: __________________________________, to the Stallion Matthijs RS for the Stud Fee of Can$ 700,= plus 5 % GST (stud
fee includes first collection fee) , for a live foal, subject to the following conditions:
1. Mare Owner agrees to pay a Collection/Packaging/Shipping/Stud Fee as stated in condition # 16
2. Upon Mare Owner’s request Special Same Day Shipping (counter to counter + courier fee) is responsibility of the Mare Owner.
3. AnnaBella Stables agrees to ship semen with a concentration level adequate to inseminate one mare. We strongly
recommend a licensed veterinarian inseminate the mare. Shipped semen must be used only for the mare stated on this
contract. Mares on-site at AnnaBella Stables have breeding priority on any given breeding day.
4. AnnaBella Stables must be notified prior to 9:00 AM Local Time on the date the semen is to be shipped. Collection days
are Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Special request for SAME DAY collect & ship will be sent “same-day” service at
mare owner’s expense. We do not collect/ship on major Canadian Holidays.
5. Breeding season starts, Januari 25 th 2009 and closes July 31th 2009 unless other agreements have been made.
6. To ensure live foal guarantee, Mare Owner is STRONGLY encouraged to (A.) vaccinate pregnant mare with
Pneumabort-K during 5th, 7th, & 9th months of gestation; (B) prevent mare's ingestion of fescue grass/hay for at least 3
months prior to expected delivery date of foal as a precaution; (C.) worm mare every 60 days throughout pregnancy; (D.)
provide ample feed and adequate shelter; and (E.) protect mare from undue stress especially in the last 60 days of
pregnancy.
7. Live foal guarantee defined as "foal able to stand and nurse for at least twenty-four (24) hours after birth."
8. Mare Owner shall attempt with reasonable diligence to settle mare; if however, for any reason the mare does not settle,
Mare Owner will hold Stallion Owner harmless. If mare does not settle after three breeding shipments, Mare Owner has
the option of waiting for the next year or bringing the mare to AnnaBella Stables for AI services at Mare Owner’s
expense, costs of mare care does apply.
9. In the event that said mare does not settle this season or deliver a live foal next year; or mare dies during breeding
season; AnnaBella Stables agrees to give Mare Owner an additional service to the same mare or an agreed-upon substitute mare during the
following breeding season for a $250 Collection Fee, ( Packaging/Shipping Fee applies) Copy of registration papers for substitute mare to be
sent to Stallion Owner prior to shipment. Past this second breeding season, AnnaBella Stables shall have no further liability hereunder for
servicing any mares. Mare Owner also agrees to pay $250 for each collection/packaging/shipping for every shipment for both breeding seasons.
10. Stud fee is non-refundable, all fees need to be paid in full before shipping by cash, certified cheque or money order
11. Mare Owner must notify AnnaBella Stables when mare has been checked for pregnancy.
12. Mare owner must provide AnnaBella Stables with Registration papers or 2 photographs of Mare by email or regular mail prior to shipping of
the semen
13. Stallion Owner will issue certificates when foal stands and nurses and all fees and bills are paid in full. The signing of this
contract entitles AnnaBella Stables to charge $20 per month on all past due invoices. Past due billing is defined as those
amounts not paid within thirty (30) days of invoice date.
14. This contract is non-assignable and non-transferable. This contract represents entire agreement between the parties. No
other agreements, promises, verbal or implied, are included unless specifically stated in this written Contract.
15. AnnaBella Stables, the stallion owner or anyone else representing either party, including the
attending veterinarian make no representation in connection with foal’s genetic outcome.
16. Stud fee 2008: $ 700.=
Collection Fee: $ 250.= ( first collection free)
Shipping Fee Ontario: $ 40.= (FedEx)
Canada $ 65.=
United States $ 85.=
Equitainer $ 50.=
All prices in this contract are in Canadian Dollars and subject to 5 % GST
